I am so computer illiterate that I don't know for sure what you mean by social networks.   I belong to a lot of game forums.  PlayFirst, Gamezebo, BigFishGames, and the new one GamePlayersCircle.   They have just started their website.  I met Cruzer and SteelerFan through PlayFirst.   No I didn't come here to promote their site.  I just think it's so great that I have so many people that I can communicate with on my computer.  Candy  (You might see me as Chevyqueen at Gamezebo or BFG.  Candy

Social Networks are generally described as websites such as Twitter, MySpace, FaceBook etc.

Places where you can leave messages for others, add others to your 'network', and so on.

I would say that in general, Networks are places where you can talk about yourself and communicate with your friends.

Seeing as you can also do that on many game places, I think it would be fine here.
