Thanksgiving and a Very Merry Christmas
Permalink

Wow I can't believe that it is almost Thanksgiving!   I am getting so excited about the holidays.   I have already done most of my Christmas decorating and even have some of my shopping done.  I am excited and one reason why is that I am going to say "Merry Christmas" this year.   Why is it more politically correct to say "Happy Holidays" or "Season Greetings"?   I know Pagans and atheist who celebrate Christmas.  It is so strange.   I am celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.   I am going to shout it from the rooftops.  The word Holiday means "Holy Day" and that is what I am going to celebrate.   I have gotten so caught up in trying to "love my neighbor" that I have let that rob happiness from me.  Not this year!   I have so much to be thankful for.  Including my precious friends on here!  So Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas in advance.  LOL Candy

These days people worry to much about offending others with their beliefs. Rightly so, seeing as how you can be sued or fired for displaying your own heart felt feelings and beliefs.

Not on here. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, your welcome here. Here we are going to respect the rights of others, even if we disagree.

I celebrate Christmas also, though we do it differently. We celebrate our Christmas Adam, Christmas Eve, make deliveries on Christmas day, and then celebrate the birth of Jesus a couple days to a week later. It just depends.

That's how I try to keep the focus on Jesus' birth even though I am willing to admit that I have no idea when Jesus was born.

Sometimes, for the fun of it for the kids, we let them pretend...(the santa thing)...by filling stockings on December 6th for them. This gives them some fun and fantasy, though they all know the truth. But, I just try to separate it from the celebration of Jesus so that there is no confusion for them.

One year, and I wish I had kept to that tradition, I nixed the Christmas tree and instead we cut and painted a huge gold star and affixed it into a corner. It had gold garland that streamed down from it onto a manger we built ourselves..complete with our little baby doll Jesus. We placed gifts around the manger that year. That was a year to remember.

No matter how you do it, or if you don't we all have a right to our traditions and beliefs without ridicule and prejudice. So, that being said:

Happy Thanksgiving
Merry Christmas
Happy Hanukkah
And anybody else that has slipped my mind this moment.

The point is LOVE

The greatest commandment no matter what God one serves.

Trina you are so right!  I welcome all people to be my friend.  I believe that no matter what religion or belief system we may have, we are all brothers and sisters.  The greatest gift is love.   Thanks, Candy

It's really hard for me to believe that this year is almost over. I just don't know where it went. What's left of the year will seem like a whirlwind of craziness..as usually defined by the holiday season.

Fall is my favorite time of year.I took the time to enjoy it today. I pulled out my favorite fall clothes, boots, sweater and scarf. I made myself a cup of hot chocolate and went for a walk.

The crisp leaves crunching under my feet. A gentle breeze kissing my cheeks. That smell of fall that I love so much, that I long for all year long..I breathed in ever so deeply, as if it will be another year before I am blessed by it again.

(The fall air is so different than other times of the year. You can smell love, warmth, and calming in the air. As you take in the sounds and smells of fall you feel that warm, fuzzy, peaceful, happy feeling wash all over you.)

The beautiful orange, brown and dark red colors dance in the breeze until they gracefully twirl from their branches to the cover the ground.

To me, the world is never more beautiful than in the fall. The world is never more peaceful and delightful. Heartwarming. Happy. Relaxing.

RELAXING...

Which brings me to the point of this newsletter. I hope that as you read this that you pictured yourself there with me. If you didn't, then I would like for you to read it again. Put yourself in there. Nevermind the menu, the laundry, the ringing phone..forget all of that for 5 minutes.

That's all. Just take 5 minutes and put yourself far away from the craziness of the holiday season. These days are of no use to us or our families if we stress ourselves out and make ourselves sick.

If you need to take 5 minutes every day, or 20 minutes if you want, then take it.

I recommend that you take at least 5 minutes EVERY SINGLE day to release the stress from your mind and body. You will feel better, your loved ones will feel better and you will actually enjoy your holiday season.

I'm wishing all of you, my friends, a happy and stress free tomorrow!

I enjoyed all of the posts here. As Trina already knows I have made a personal choice not to celebrate the holidays. I do believe that Jesus died for us and that if it was not for him what would be the point. I believe that we should all love one another. Jesus commanded us to do so. And because I love people so much and want the best for everyone I guess I pray and give thanks for all that I know and don't know everday. I am a strong family and friend oriented person. I just try to live my life following Jesus' example as best I can. But we all have to remember, none of us are perfect. I hope I haven't offended anyone I just wanted to speak from my heart for a moment also.

Come on over. Hop a plane and you'll be here in a couple hours. We'll wait for you. lol

Like I always say, do not worry about apologizing for your beliefs, that goes for everyone here. Those who get offended are welcome to ignore those posts or leave these forums.

Everyone is entitled to their feelings and beliefs. On this site, noone will be condemned for beliefs, even if people don't agree or have the same beliefs.

I have no problems with people discussing their beliefs if they want to, that's how we learn. But we are not going to apologize for our beliefs, and we are not going to be persecuted. Don't worry about offending people.

We are all family here. I consider you all to be part of my family. As such, we will love one another, respect one another and at this point there is no one on this board that would be offended. Others will come and we will deal with it then if the situation arises.

I love you, my sister in Christ. Try to get some rest today if you can so you can get better.

that's what's wrong today. ppl dont worry about not offending others with their beliefs. you cant push your beliefs on others.

i dont think it's politically correct to have a forum where you have prayers and talking about religion.

i see lots of fun stuff here but am i going to have to endure the religious stuff if i hang out here? i should be able to come here and not be offended by every ones god and prayers.

i'm just saying ppl wont come if they are subjected to all that. that's all.

Millie, welcome to MyRazzles. I am the owner, Trina Miller. Being the owner, I decide what goes on here. Let me address some of your questions and comment.

1.) Noone will ever PUSH their beliefs on you here.

2.) Politically correct? I'm not a politician. If I were, there would still be prayer in schools and  the 10 commandments would be law.

3.) Will you have to endure the prayers and religious talk if you stay here?
Yes & No.
No, because you are not being forced to read those posts. Yes, because if you just can't resist reading them then you will be subjected to it.

4.)You should not have to be offended by our God and prayers.
Indeed! You should not have to be offended. If you are then you are bringing it on yourself, don't you think? After all, you know what goes on here in our forum. If you choose to leave you will not have to be offended. If you choose to stay then you either ignore said posts or choose to be offended.

I choose what is allowed here. The members here are my family. We have different religious beliefs and we all get along just fine. We don't come here looking for trouble or some way to stir the pot. It sounds like you have.

We are what we are. We will not hold our tongues or worry about offending others. We have chosen to be free about our thoughts, feelings and beliefs. We will share them, say what's on our mind without fear of being judged.

Anyone who endangers that will be asked to leave. We have a friendly, loving, fun environment here. That's the way it will remain.

As I have posted in the MyRazzles Rights and Your Rights:

YOUR FREEDOM TO LEAVE

All visitors to MyRazzle forums web site are here voluntarily. Nobody is forcing you to post on this message board.

The Administrators try their best to be fair, and to make our forums a welcoming place for those who want to be here.

If you don't like our forums, or the members, or the way we run the forums, then we strongly suggest that you exercise your right to leave.

If we decide that you don't like this place very much, then we reserve the right to show you the door ourselves.

Thank you for coming. Have a nice day.

Hi millie,

I kind of understand what you're saying but truthfully, I don't believe anyone here is forcing you to practice a religion or believe in God, etc.  I've had those in the past who have tried to force their religious points on me but here, I haven't seen anyone do that to anybody.  It is true that there are some posts here where religion is discussed but of course, you can always ignore them.  I see this forum as being more of a place for general chatter and to talk about games and such and religion just happens to be one topic.  wink

I do know that there are some forums out there which do prohibit talking about religion because it can get into heated arguments and such but that isn't the case here.  I suppose that's because the forum here is pretty small so conflicts don't arise much.

Anyway, this place can be fun, too.  Check out the forum games section and make some new games there.  aww

Ditto, Scarlet. That is so right. We are free to discuss any topic we choose with few exceptions being just plain unacceptable topics.

It's not a religion forum, we don't convert, we don't hit you with live chickens or anything like that. lol

We are happy to have you here. Just ignore posts that are a bother to you. Such as, obviously the prayer circle.

As Scarlet says, get into the games, contests, and general discussion. Enjoy the parts you want to and avoid those you have no interest in.

Okay, I am the one who started this thread.  What I left out is the fact that even though my friend is Wiccan I still love her.  She is kind to other's and is a wonderful person.   A little bit of my background.  My dad was raised in a strict Roman Catholic home.  My mother was raised Southern Baptist.   When I was born I was christened in a Catholic church.  When I was 2 my parents were invited to the local Methodist church.  I am now 54 and my parents have gone to that church for 52 years.   I was baptized in an interdenominational church while in my 40's.  The church was led by a man who followed the Penecostal tradition.   So many religions but, all the same!  They all teach the lesson of love.   To everyone concerned I didn't realize that two of my favorite people in the world are Jehovah witnesses.  Does that change things?  No it doesn't.  Because when everything is said and done we are left with love.  So in ending this post I will never be ashamed of my beliefs but, I will not force them on anyone.   That is not love!  Now let's all go and have some fun!  Chevy

Well said, ChevyCandyCrazy. lol

I have friends of all religion and of no religion at all.  One of my best friends is a Jehovah's Witness, in fact I have about 15 friends who are Jehovah's Witnesses. I actually study all different religions. So I also have friends who are Mormons, Baptist, Pentecostal, Atheist, Methodist, Lutheran, and on and on.

As for me...I am a child of the Most High God, Jehovah..as I believe his name to be. I have no specific religion denomination to speak of. I use the bible as my guide and study all different religions because I love to learn.

I WILL share with ppl my beliefs if they ask me. I will not preach to those who are unwilling to hear. I can play games, have conversations, and hang out without talking about God. I'm not trying to enlist or recruit anyone here.

If I were led to, I would.

Here is the bottom line for me:

On this site, you (anyone) WILL come across references to God. You WILL find prayers and prayer requests. You WILL find talk about Jesus, especially now, with the holiday season at hand.
This is not a secret.

Other things you WILL find on this site:
Jokes
Game conversations
Trivia
Forum games
Contests
Ranting and raving (Steam Room)
Daily experiences
Weekend plans
Requests for advice, and support
Recipes
News
Freebies
Game deals
Best members ever to be found
Lots of Love

So, if you stay you will enjoy your time here, if you allow yourself to. You have plenty of ways to participate. There is lots of fun to be had.

If you go, we will miss you but we will know that you will be fine and find a place that better suits your needs.

I think I'm done with this conversation. I'm not being ugly. I truly hope you stay, but you will not receive apologies from me. You will not receive any more explanations from me, due to the fact that I feel we owe noone any explanations for our beliefs and what we have posted here that has caused no concern to others before now.
I do apologize if I sound rude here, I'm not trying to be, I promise. But that is all I will apologize for.

You are now on your own to make your decision but I will discuss this no more.

Hope to see you around the board.

I must say that is new to me. being told this is the way it is and if you dont like it then thats just to bad and that is final and hit the road if you have a problem with it.

i guess im used to getting my way. no one has ever in my life talked to me like that. i think im in shcok. im having a bad week and i guess i just threw it out here. right now i am ticked off with god and no i dont want to talk about it but thats why all the fuss. Trina i'm really sorry about coming in and causing trouble here on your website. i just sorta crashed in the place. i am sorry to all i offended.

whats really weird is that youcould of just ignored me or deleted my posts and you guys talked to me instead. if its okay with you i would like to stay, if everyone here does not hate me. i understand if you dont want me here i have given you good reason not to.its up to you of course. id like to stay.

Millie, I feel honored that you want to stay on here with us!   You kn ow if you ever need to lean on someone's shoulder or to talk to you can come here.   I am so glad you are staying!   My brother went through a bad spell and he was also mad at God.  Do you think that I disowned my brother or turned my back on him?  No way!  My brother is doing great now.   He was having marital problems.  Three kids, the youngest is 17.   One is about to graduate and become an EMT.   The other one is going to go to college.   His daughter is 6'2" and could easily pass for a model.  (She sure doesn't take after her Aunt Candy!  LOL  )    They are all living with my brother now.   His ex-wife met someone and basically left them.   They are all living in a tiny house but, are extremely happy!   I don't know why I am telling all of this.   I guess I just felt the need to talk!  See how great this site is!  LLC  Candy

Hi millie,

It's great to hear that you want to stay.  ^^  I certainly understand what it's like to have a bad week.  I'm going through one of those myself.  (Check out my rant in the Steam Room and you'll see what I mean.  lol)

The contests are fun and I'd love for there to be more forum games.  I should try to come up with more myself but with my real life work and other online duties, I'm quite the busy lady.   biggrin
